Editorial Policy

StackByTrade exists to help small businesses pick software that fits their trade. These are the rules every guide follows. If a guide falls short of them, tell us.

Independence

  • No vendor pays to be included, ranked higher or reviewed.
  • Vendors do not see or approve guides before they are published.
  • We do not publish sponsored posts or paid placements.
  • Some outbound links may be affiliate links. Whether a product has an affiliate program, and what it pays, never decides its position. See our affiliate disclosure.

What we claim, and what we don't

We do not test products hands-on, and we never write as if we had. Guides compare what vendors publish: plans, prices, limits, features and documentation. When a guide says a tool can or cannot do something, that comes from the vendor's own pages or help center.

Sources

  • Prices and plan details come from each vendor's official pricing pages, which every guide lists under "Sources and updates".
  • Tax, payroll and legal context comes from official sources such as the IRS or the US Department of Labor, linked where it is used.
  • When we cannot confirm a price or feature, we say so, mark it as quote only, or leave it out. We do not estimate prices.

Dates you can trust

Each guide shows two dates. Updated is the last time the guide's content changed.Prices checked is the last time its prices and plan details were checked against the vendors' pages. Guides also keep an update history at the end, so you can see what changed and when.

Corrections

When we find an error, or a reader reports one, we check it against the vendor's page and correct the guide as soon as it is confirmed. Material corrections, such as a wrong price or a feature a plan does not include, are noted in the guide's update history. Report an error at hello@stackbytrade.com.

Who writes the guides

Guides are researched and written by StackByTrade Content Team. How we pick and rank tools is explained inhow we review.
