Best Email Marketing for Real Estate Agents (2026): Drips, Newsletters and Real Cost
We compare IXACT Contact, Wise Agent, Constant Contact and MailerLite for real estate email marketing: buyer and seller drips, sphere newsletters and cost.
Real estate email marketing has a long fuse. A buyer who downloads your first-time buyer guide may not tour a home for a year, and a past client may not sell for seven. The agent who is still in their inbox, with useful local news rather than a hard sell, is the one they call. Email is how you stay in touch with hundreds of people at once without it becoming a full-time job.
That makes the job of the software specific. It needs to run automatic follow-up for new buyer and seller leads, send a regular newsletter or market update to your whole sphere, keep those contacts in sync with your CRM, and keep you on the right side of the federal anti-spam law. We compared four options that publish their prices: two real estate CRMs with email built in, and two general email platforms.

How we chose
A real estate agent’s email marketing needs to:
- Run drip campaigns for buyers and sellers. A drip campaign is a series of emails that goes out automatically on a schedule after someone joins, for example a welcome email on day one and a home-buying checklist on day seven.
- Keep your sphere warm with a monthly newsletter or market update to past clients, friends and referral partners.
- Work with your CRM and listing tools, so new leads from your website or portals start a drip without manual copying, and listing alerts come from your IDX or MLS system.
- Make compliance easy: an unsubscribe link and your postal address in every marketing email, as CAN-SPAM requires.
- Cost a predictable amount for a solo agent or a small team.
We read each vendor’s pricing page and plan details on October 1, 2026, and the FTC’s CAN-SPAM compliance guide. Prices are US list prices before promotions. Read more about how we review.
The CAN-SPAM rules in plain English
The CAN-SPAM Act covers any email whose main purpose is to promote a product or service, which includes most agent newsletters, “just listed” emails and market updates. According to the FTC’s compliance guide, a commercial email must:
- Use accurate “From” and routing information, and a subject line that does not mislead.
- Identify the message as an ad, in a clear way.
- Include your valid physical postal address.
- Tell recipients how to opt out, and honor opt-outs within 10 business days.
You are responsible even if someone else, such as an assistant or a marketing service, sends the email for you. The FTC says each email in violation can bring a penalty of up to $53,088. Purely transactional messages, such as an update on a deal a client has already agreed to, are mostly exempt, but the FTC reads that category narrowly. Texts follow different rules, so check them separately before you add SMS.
The best email marketing for real estate agents
IXACT Contact
Best for agents whose business comes from past clients and referrals
What we like
- Professionally written and designed monthly e-newsletter, sent for you

- CRM, email marketing and an agent website in one subscription
- No contract; cancel anytime
Watch out for
- 2,500 mass emails a month included; more are bought in bulk
- Less design freedom than a general email platform
- IDX listings on the website are an optional paid add-on
- Annual plan
- $46.75/mo
- Monthly plan
- $55/mo

- 2,500/mo included

- Free trial
IXACT Contact is a real estate CRM built around staying in touch. Its standout feature is the automated monthly e-newsletter: IXACT writes and designs it, and it goes to your contacts under your name, so your sphere hears from you every month without you writing a word. Around it you get targeted drip campaigns for lead nurture, holiday and event e-cards, video email through BombBomb, and reports that show who opened and clicked.
Because the email tools live inside the CRM, a lead who fills in a form on your IXACT website lands in your database and can drop straight into a drip. The CRM also reminds you about birthdays and keep-in-touch calls, which pairs well with the newsletter.
Which plan to pick: the annual plan at $46.75 a month saves 15% over paying $55 month to month. There is a separate teams version for team leaders and members.
Watch out for: mass email volume. The plan includes 2,500 mass emails a month, so a newsletter to 1,000 contacts plus a couple of announcements fits, but a bigger database means buying extra email packs. Drip emails do not count toward that limit. See our real estate CRM guide for the CRM side in more detail.
Wise Agent
Best for solo agents and small teams who want CRM, drips and transactions for one price
What we like
- Drip campaigns, a monthly newsletter and marketing tools on every plan
- Flat price with up to 5 team members on a shared login
- Lead automation and a customizable landing page included
- 24/7 live support; month to month with no contract
Watch out for
- Shared login by default; separate logins cost extra
- Texting needs the WiseText add-on and a one-time $80 registration fee
- More of a CRM than an email designer; check the templates fit your brand
- Annual
- $499/yr
- Monthly
- $588/yr ($49/mo)
- Users
- Up to 5, shared login
- Trial
- 14 days
Wise Agent is a full real estate CRM, and its email tools are part of the base price rather than an add-on. Every plan includes drip campaigns, a monthly newsletter, real estate stock content, customizable landing pages and lead automation, alongside transaction management and a team calendar. For an agent who wants one system to capture leads, follow up and manage deals, it is the lowest flat price in this guide.
Which plan to pick: the CRM plan at $499 a year, or $588 a year if you pay monthly. The CRM + WiseSocial plan ($699 a year) adds automated social posts and branded listing videos, which is a social tool rather than email, so add it only if you want that.
Watch out for: logins. Up to 5 team members are included, but they share one login unless you buy additional logins with their own permissions. Ask how drips are triggered from your lead sources during the 14-day trial.
Constant Contact
Best for agents who already have a CRM and want polished newsletters with live help
What we like
- Drag-and-drop editor, templates and an AI copy generator on every plan
- Live phone and chat support on every plan
- Event tools and social posting included
- Free trial with no card, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee
Watch out for
- Lite has 1 user and 1 automation template; real drips need Standard or Premium
- Sends over your monthly limit cost $0.002 each
- Nothing real estate specific; you write the content
- Lite
- From $12/mo, 1 user
- Standard
- From $35/mo, 3 users
- Premium
- From $80/mo, unlimited users
- Prepay 12 months
- Save up to 15%
Constant Contact is built for people who are not full-time marketers, which suits most agents. The editor makes a good-looking market update easy, every plan includes social posting and sign-up forms, and you can call a person when something will not send. It also connects to around 300 other tools, so check that your CRM is among them before you rely on it for lead follow-up.
Which plan to pick: Standard from $35 a month. It adds 3 users, scheduling, subject line A/B testing, automatic resend to non-openers, 3 automation templates and reports that show who opened and clicked, which you need to spot the past client who suddenly reads every email. Premium from $80 a month adds unlimited custom automations, unlimited segments and 500 texts a month for US customers.
Watch out for: list size. Prices start at those figures and rise with your number of contacts, and each plan caps monthly sends at 10, 12 or 24 times your contact count. Prepaying 12 months saves up to 15%.
MailerLite
Best for new agents and budget-minded teams who are comfortable setting up automations
What we like
- Free plan for up to 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month
- Every paid plan gets the full feature set; you pay for list size and sending
- Visual automation builder, landing pages and sign-up forms
- 14-day free trial of paid features, no card
Watch out for
- Free plan allows only 3 automations and 1 landing page
- Comfort caps sends at 10 times your subscriber tier
- Nothing real estate specific; you build the drips and write the content
- Free
- 250 subscribers, 2 seats
- Comfort
- From $12/mo, 3 seats
- Power
- From $25/mo, unlimited seats
- Automations
- 3 / 50 / unlimited
MailerLite gives you serious tools for very little money. You can build a buyer drip and a seller drip in its visual automation builder, put a landing page behind a “free home valuation” or “relocation guide” offer, and send a monthly market update, all on the Comfort plan from $12 a month. With 100+ integrations, you can usually connect it to your CRM or website forms.
Which plan to pick: Comfort from $12 a month once your list passes 250 subscribers or you need more than 3 automations. Power from $25 a month adds unlimited sending, unlimited automations and 24/7 live chat.
Watch out for: setup time. Unlike the two real estate CRMs above, MailerLite has no ready-made real estate campaigns, so plan an afternoon to write your first drip series. The free plan is small: 250 subscribers is a starter sphere, not a full database.
Which one should you choose?
- Your business is referrals and repeat clients, and you will not write a newsletter yourself: IXACT Contact.
- You want a CRM with drips and transaction tracking at the lowest flat price: Wise Agent.
- You already have a CRM and want great-looking emails with phone support: Constant Contact on Standard.
- You are starting out, or you want maximum automation per dollar: MailerLite, free until 250 subscribers.
Before you send, import only contacts who know you, add your brokerage’s postal address to your email footer, and make sure your listing alerts come from your IDX website or MLS, not a manual email.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best email marketing for real estate agents?
It depends on where your business comes from. Agents who live on referrals do well with IXACT Contact, which writes and sends a monthly e-newsletter for you. Agents who need a CRM and drip campaigns for one flat price can use Wise Agent. If you already have a CRM and only need a strong email tool, Constant Contact or MailerLite cost less and give you more design control.
Does CAN-SPAM apply to real estate emails?
Yes, to any email whose main purpose is to promote your services, including newsletters, market updates and new-listing announcements. The FTC says each commercial email must include your valid physical postal address and a clear way to opt out, opt-outs must be honored within 10 business days, and subject lines must not mislead. Each email in violation can cost up to $53,088, according to the FTC.
How much does real estate email marketing cost?
From free to about $55 a month for a solo agent at list price. MailerLite is free up to 250 subscribers. Constant Contact starts at $12 a month. Wise Agent is $499 a year with CRM and drips included, and IXACT Contact is $46.75 a month on an annual plan or $55 month to month, including its done-for-you newsletter.
Can these tools send automatic MLS listing alerts?
Not on their own. Automatic new-listing and price-change alerts come from an IDX website or your MLS portal, which watch the listing feed and email buyers when a home matches a saved search. Use your email tool for drips, newsletters and market updates, and an IDX provider for listing alerts. Our realtor website guide covers IDX options.
