Best CRM for Ecommerce (2026): Klaviyo, Gorgias and HubSpot Compared
We compare Klaviyo, Gorgias and HubSpot as a CRM for ecommerce: Shopify and WooCommerce data, segments, support tickets, repeat buyers and real prices.
A CRM for ecommerce does a different job from a sales CRM. There is no sales pipeline to manage and no deals to close. Instead, the software has to pull every order, refund and browsing event out of Shopify or WooCommerce, turn it into one profile per shopper, and use that profile to bring people back: a reminder to reorder, a win-back offer to someone who has not bought in six months, and a support agent who can see a customer’s last three orders before replying to “where is my package?”.
That means the best CRM for ecommerce is judged on four things: how well it reads your store data, how easily you can build segments from it, whether support conversations live in the same place, and how it tracks repeat purchases. We compared three platforms that online stores commonly use for those jobs, and checked what each one costs as the store grows.

Before you buy: what Shopify already does
If you sell on Shopify, check what your plan already includes before you add a CRM. Shopify’s pricing page lists customer segments, customer chat, marketing automations and abandoned checkout recovery on every plan. Its segments are dynamic, rule-based lists, so you can build a group such as “email subscribers who have placed five or more orders” without another tool.
A separate CRM earns its cost when you need one or more of these:
- Follow-ups driven by purchase history, such as a reorder reminder 30 days after a consumable sells.
- A shared support inbox where every agent sees the customer’s orders next to the message.
- One record across several stores or channels, for example a Shopify store plus wholesale buyers.
- Reporting on repeat customers, so you can see whether last year’s buyers are coming back.
How we chose
An ecommerce CRM needs to:
- Pull customer and order data from your store, such as Shopify or WooCommerce, automatically and keep it in sync.
- Segment shoppers by what they bought, how often and how recently, without exporting spreadsheets.
- Handle support tickets with the customer’s order history in view, or connect cleanly to the helpdesk that does.
- Track and drive repeat purchases, with automations triggered by order events.
- Bill predictably as your customer list and ticket volume grow.

The best CRM software for ecommerce
Klaviyo
Best for Shopify and WooCommerce stores that want customer data, marketing and support in one place
What we like
- Builds one profile per shopper from store data, used for segments, flows and reports
- Free plan includes automation, segmentation and reporting
- Optional Helpdesk from $10/mo for up to 50 tickets, sharing the same customer profiles
- Integrates with Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix and other store platforms
Watch out for
- Free plan: 250 active profiles and 500 emails a month; full email support only for the first 60 days
- We could not read a US starting price for paid email plans; use Klaviyo's pricing calculator
- Each product (email, mobile messaging, Helpdesk, Customer Hub) is priced separately
- Free
- 250 profiles, 500 emails/mo
- Paid email
- By active profiles
- Helpdesk
- From $10/mo, 50 tickets
- Customer Hub
- From $20/mo, 10,000 profiles
Klaviyo describes itself as a B2C CRM, and for an online store that is a fair description. Once you connect your store, every shopper gets a profile with what they browsed, bought and returned. You can then build segments on that data, such as customers who bought twice but not in the last 90 days, and trigger flows from order events. That covers the core ecommerce CRM jobs of segmentation and repeat-purchase tracking without a second system.
Klaviyo now also sells a Helpdesk, priced by shopper-initiated tickets from $10 a month for up to 50, and a Customer Hub, a signed-in area on your store where shoppers can see orders, loyalty and support, priced by active profiles from $20 a month for up to 10,000. Both use the same customer profiles as your email and text marketing, so support and marketing see one record.
Which plan to pick: start on the free plan to connect your store and build your first segments and flows. Move to a paid email plan sized to your active profile count when you pass 250 profiles or 500 emails a month. Add Helpdesk only if you do not already run a dedicated support tool.
Watch out for: billing by active profiles. Klaviyo describes active profiles as contacts who can receive marketing emails, and the free plan stops sending once you pass its limits. Check how checkout customers count toward your bill in Klaviyo’s billing help pages, and suppress contacts you no longer market to.
Gorgias
Best for stores where support volume, not marketing, is the main customer problem
What we like
- Priced by tickets per month, not per agent; Basic and above include 500 user seats
- Email, chat, social and help center in one inbox, with Shopify and WooCommerce on every plan
- AI Agent on every plan, billed only per automated interaction
- Revenue attribution from the Pro plan, so you can see sales that support conversations influenced
Watch out for
- No free plan listed; Starter is limited to 50 tickets a month and 3 seats
- Ticket overages: $0.40 per ticket on Starter, $40 per 100 on Basic
- Not a marketing tool; pair it with an email platform for campaigns and segments
- Starter
- 50 tickets/mo, 3 seats, monthly
- Basic
- 300 tickets/mo, $600/yr annual
- Pro
- 2,000 tickets/mo, $3,600/yr annual
- AI Agent
- $0.85 to $1.00 per automated interaction
Gorgias is a helpdesk built for online stores, and it is the strongest pick here for the support side of an ecommerce CRM. Messages from email, chat, social media and your help center land in one inbox, and agents can see the customer’s store data while they reply. Gorgias says it powers customer conversations for 40% of Shopify brands.
Its pricing model suits stores with seasonal staff. Plans are sized by tickets per month, from 50 on Starter to 5,000 on Advanced, and Basic and above include 500 user seats, so adding temporary agents for the holidays does not change the price. Gorgias’s AI Agent is available on every plan; you pay per automated interaction, from $1.00 on Starter to $0.85 on Advanced.
Which plan to pick: Starter if you handle fewer than 50 conversations a month on Shopify or WooCommerce. Basic, at $600 a year billed annually, for most growing stores; it also adds BigCommerce and the voice and SMS add-ons. Pro, at $3,600 a year billed annually, when you need 2,000 tickets a month, 1:1 onboarding and revenue attribution.
Watch out for: usage costs. Ticket overages and AI Agent interactions are billed on top of the plan, and voice and SMS are priced separately by volume. Gorgias’s pricing page also showed higher yearly totals that appear to include estimated AI Agent usage, so model your expected tickets and automation rate before you commit. We could not read a dollar price for the Starter plan.
HubSpot
Best for stores that also sell wholesale or B2B, or that run a sales team alongside the shop
What we like
- Native Shopify data sync for customers, companies, products, orders and abandoned checkouts
- Free CRM for up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts
- Starter includes ticketing, more automation, HubSpot Payments and 24/7 chat and email support
- Deal pipelines for wholesale or trade accounts, which store-first tools are not built around
Watch out for
- Orders and abandoned checkouts sync one way, from Shopify to HubSpot
- Marketing contacts are billed by tier, so a large customer list raises the price
- Some AI features use HubSpot Credits; Starter includes 500 a month
- Free
- 2 users, 1,000 contacts
- Starter
- $20/seat/mo list
- Shopify sync
- Native, within 10 minutes
- Integrations
- 2,000+
HubSpot is a general CRM rather than an ecommerce tool, which is exactly why it belongs on this list. If your store also sells wholesale, takes trade orders or has a sales rep handling larger accounts, you need deal pipelines, company records and quotes as well as shopper profiles. HubSpot’s native Shopify integration syncs customers with contacts, companies, products, orders and abandoned checkouts, and after the first sync it updates records within 10 minutes of a change.
With that data in HubSpot you can segment contacts by orders, send automated marketing emails and log support issues as tickets on the Starter plan. The same records hold sales deals for your B2B accounts.
Which plan to pick: start free to connect Shopify and see your customers and orders in HubSpot. Move to Starter, listed at $20 per seat per month, when you need ticketing, more automation and support. HubSpot was offering new customers up to 65% off Starter for a limited time when we checked.
Watch out for: contact-based billing. HubSpot bills for marketing contacts on top of seats, and an ecommerce customer list grows fast. Decide which customers you will actually email and mark only those as marketing contacts. If you sell only to consumers, Klaviyo or a Shopify-first tool will usually fit better.
Which one should you choose?
- You sell to consumers on Shopify or WooCommerce and want one customer record for marketing and support: Klaviyo, adding its Helpdesk when tickets become a burden.
- Support volume is your biggest problem: Gorgias, paired with your email platform.
- You also sell wholesale or B2B, or run a sales team: HubSpot with its Shopify sync.
- You are small and on Shopify: start with Shopify’s built-in customer segments and chat, and add a CRM when you outgrow them.
Prices for all three depend on usage: profiles, tickets or contacts. Before you commit, count your active customers and monthly support conversations, and run those numbers through each vendor’s pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best CRM for ecommerce?
For most Shopify and WooCommerce stores, Klaviyo, because it builds a profile for every shopper from your store data and uses it for segments, email, text messages and, if you add it, a helpdesk. Gorgias is the better choice when your main problem is customer support volume. HubSpot suits stores that also sell to businesses or run a sales team.
Does a Shopify store need a CRM?
Not always. Every Shopify plan includes customer profiles, customer segments built from filters such as order count, and customer chat. A separate CRM starts to pay off when you need automated follow-ups based on purchase history, a shared support inbox with order details, or one record that combines several stores and channels.
What is the difference between an ecommerce CRM and email marketing software?
The line has blurred. Klaviyo sells itself as a B2C CRM and email platform in one. The practical difference is scope: a CRM keeps the full customer record, including orders, support conversations and notes, while an email tool focuses on sending campaigns and automations. Many stores use one platform for both.
How much does an ecommerce CRM cost?
Klaviyo and HubSpot both have free plans. Klaviyo paid email plans are priced by active profiles, and its helpdesk starts at $10 a month for up to 50 tickets. Gorgias Basic is $600 a year billed annually for 300 tickets a month. HubSpot Starter lists at $20 per seat per month.
